Often new to Bali, many students and guests do not yet understand Balinese culture, and how to best integrate with the locals and the land. As hosts to this magical place – and for the people – we wish to impart the importance of honoring local cultural \ traditions. It can be the difference between westerners having a positive experience and impact here, or unknowingly contributing to division on the island, and offending the Balinese.
As Hindu people, ceremonies are a way of life, and the backbone of Balinese culture. Ceremonies include student blessings by a priest, flowers, gamelan music, snacks and drinks. The Balinese believe in blessing the land, and introducing guests to the land and spirits. They take this very seriously, anything else is honestly considered disrespectful. Rates dependent on group size.
Opening Retreat (mandatory)
Raise cultural awareness, receive a blessing from a Balinese priest, get connected with Mother Bali, and introduce you group. Kickstart your retreat like the Balinese do, in community and with cultural respect. Includes priest, live gamelan music, flowers, snacks and drinks. Rates dependent on group size.
Water Purification At Holy Springs
Optionally, take your group for prayers and purification at a nearby holy springs, lead by a Balinese priestess. Includes transportation. Rates dependent on group size.
Closing Retreat (party)
On Bali, what we open we close. End your retreat with acknowledging the land spirits, the island of Bali, and gratitude for all you’ve been enriched by. Lead by a priest, includes flowers, Balinese dancers, snacks and drinks. Rates dependent on group size.
